Solar Conference in Mamaronek, New York

The Town of Mamaroneck, New York, hosted a press event attended by local media to promote the mechanical completion of our solar array on the roof of the town’s Hommocks Park Ice Rink. This project is part of New York’s Community Distributed Generation program and will offer significant electricity savings to local subscribers, with a special focus on low- to moderate-income residents of Mamaroneck. The press event was hosted at the Hommocks Park Apartments complex, and, in a joint effort with Sustainable Westchester, a local nonprofit Community Choice Aggregator, will focus on providing savings to residents of this affordable housing complex and similar ones in the area. “We are going to be giving everyone an opportunity to participate in Community Solar”, said Nancy Seligson, the Town Supervisor, a speaker at the event and a supporter of the project from day one. “we feel good because it’s creating renewable energy, so that’s improving our environment, improving our planet and it’s available for everyone.”

The project has recently begun to accept subscribers into the program, so if you are interested in participating, please contact info@sustainablewestchester.org for more information on how to sign up.
