SunLight General Capital develops, finances, owns, and operates solar energy projects with a focus on the Northeast, helping to promote access to clean, affordable renewable energy. We sell electricity to our clients, usually municipal entities or qualifying commercial sites, via long-term purchase contracts. The team has worked together since 2009 and has developed over 130 sites in an aggregate amount of over 50 MW. We can finance the construction and installation of photovoltaic solar arrays on the rooftops or grounds of qualifying commercial and not-for-profit clients. 

Our operation and maintenance division, Azimuth 180 Solar Electric, maintains over 140 commercial-scale projects (50 MW). As experienced solar investors ourselves, we take an owner’s approach to our solar assets. Azimuth 180 is a fully staffed outfit, including licensed engineers, NABCEP-certified solar installers, electricians, solar and landscaping technicians, and asset managers. We can also manage billing, reporting, and environmental attributes monetization for project owners, providing a seamless, one-stop experience.

SunLight General Capital also acquires in-development or operating projects at any stage from developers, installers, or funds. We maintain a wide network of relationships with brokers, financial institutions, and other parties who bring us a steady flow of opportunities. After evaluating and pricing a given project within the bounds of our investment criteria, our team works toward the successful closing of these transactions in a variety of possible ways— whatever works for the seller, works for us. This flexibility enables us to cast a wide net over the secondary market for the C&I solar asset class. • Flexibility regarding project size: we can finance projects up to 2MW, but are willing to invest in smaller projects that many developers refuse (project size 175kw and up)

We also purchase operating projects from developers and other owners, allowing them to monetize immediate cash from these assets.
