SunLight Completes 1 MW Municipal Solar Project in New Jersey

September 17, 2024 - Manasquan, NJ

SunLight General Capital is close to completing a 1 MW rooftop solar project at Manasquan High School and Elementary School in Manasquan, New Jersey. The systems, with a nice view on the New Jersey coast, will generate approximately 1.3 million kilowatt-hours annually, reducing the school’s carbon footprint and energy costs. Savings from the project will be reinvested into the school.

This project is a collaboration between SunLight General Capital, the Manasquan School District, and local officials. It delivers responsible energy investments at no cost to the Manasquan Board of Education, provides significant savings through a competitive PPA rate secured via a public RFP process, and allows all stakeholders to demonstrate energy leadership in Monmouth County and throughout New Jersey by implementing effective climate change solutions.

Looking ahead, SunLight will bring the Manasquan High School solar project online later in 2024, continuing our commitment to sustainable energy solutions for New Jersey municipalities.
