Mamaroneck, NY Community Solar Program Press

News outlets Patch, Heating News Journal, and Microsoft News recently shed light on SunLight General Capital’s Mamaroneck, NY community solar farm to help the area’s low-income residents reduce their utility bills. Located atop the Hommocks Park Ice Rink, the community solar farm is expected to generate clean, renewable energy for up to 100 households in the surrounding area. The program yields cost savings to its subscribers’ energy bill, as they receive a credit on their utility bill calculated from their energy consumption produced by the solar array. The town will first offer these benefits to the community’s low-income residents and has set a goal to have fifty percent of the total subscribers in subsidized housing.
